In verse 39b David took them off because it was not him
In verse 40 David used what was natural to him – staff, 5 stones, and a sling
In verse 42 Goliath only sees a boy
In verse 43 David calls out and says he is the Lord’s vessel
In verse 48 David ran forward and killed Goliath with the small stone
In verse 55 Saul wants to know more about David
In verse 58b David announces who he is
We often are fearful of GIANTS (situations that seem beyond our control). We become stuck for days, weeks, or years. We forget that the Lord is with us and that we can face our GIANTS. We also want to be someone that we are not (putting on someone else’s armor). When we finally say to the Lord that this is who I am and this is how you have gifted and prepared me, we then can face our GIANTS. Others may see you as inexperienced or ill prepared, but the Lord sees you for who you are. When we accept who we are in the Lord, that is when we can defeat our GIANTS. At the end, as others inquire who are you and how did you conquer your GIANTS, you can say I am the Lord’s.
Let us not run from the battle we are called to live through and endure.
You may be fearful of sharing Jesus with the world that is full of angst and uncertainty right now. But you have been called and commissioned to do just that. No matter what your family, friends, work associates may say, stand and say I am a follower of Jesus.
Lord, Giants are everywhere around me and in me. Allow me to be who you have created me to be and live into that. Send me into the battle with your Holy Spirit with me. Allow me to reveal Jesus to the world and boldly proclaim that I am a Follower of Jesus and He is with me. Lord – BUILD YOUR KINGDOM HERE!! Amen

UPDATE ON GATHERING TOGETHER
We continue to be suspended due to COVID-19. It is our hope that we will be able to gather sometime in June – depending on what the health officials and the government instruct concerning churches meeting.
PLEASE CONTINUE TO MAIL YOUR TITHES AND OFFERINGS
We have been doing well with meeting most of our obligation in terms of ministry distributions (tithes to the Conference, utilities, insurance, and pastoral leadership). Thank you!
